The Rialto Tower Observation Deck offers magnificent 360 degree views of the city of Melbourne. It was open to the public on July 20th 1994; the Tower itself stands 253 meters tall and is a member of World Federation of Great Towers.
Upon hearing that the Deck was to close indefinitely on December 31st, 2009 I took the opportunity to revisit on several occasions in order to capture the latest views of the Melbourne city skyline.
On my last visit I was blessed with a superb sunset and was able to create this particular image "Rialto Tower, Melbourne Final Observation," which looks east across the Yarra River towards the Dandenong Ranges.
Since this image is comprised of 39 high resolution photographs it is possible to enjoy the many Melbourne landmarks in fine detail; the slideshow opposite displays the entire print, as well as some close-up detail sections from the image.
